An ill-starred struggle to feed
the inordinate sense that leaves one to seek
a dire faith in the highly praised three
Seeds sown by those who verily claim to see
the sights of eternal light
arousing the fervent words to recite
Heartened to light up the stake to respire
the purifying smoke to mute the entire
resonance of the resentful speeches
uttered by those who a god appeases
Building up the flames with ignorance
of a longed-for lifespan's reliance
Unspeakable sputter spat out from the fires
incinerating the mind that used to aspire
the warmth to twine the heart to god
A disastrous murmur in the heart of the pyre
that thwarts and wears down the useless desire
of a fire to him and a fire to burn within
Carried in the sin of self
but to merge with the devout thrum of Lucifer
and rephrase the bitter words of encouragement
towards the heart-rending enlightenment
Demeaned only to rise again
as a symbol of godhead's impotence

Vestigial Rites

Eunuchs from which cancers grow and untruth flows like rivers that run rancid
Under gallows and past crosses
Their tarnished silver jangling as they prostrate over fallen soot-stained idols
From vestigial hollow masses
With candles lighting fires in the mind that both inspires and make blind
For setting heresy ablaze in holy pyres
And the stench of fear and fetid flesh gets masked by fumes of flames and ash
As black smoke rises up beyond the spire
Cold catacombs stretch darkly through the tons of trodden earth and stone
And undermines the fundaments of faith
From unknown graves the sin and sickness seep through mud and clings to soil
Then taints and mars the fruit it propagates
The hungry frothing sheep will flock in silence to the fields to graze from withered vines
For pleasure and for penance
And their rituals in blood obscures the negligence of god until the last light is snuffed out
Not by divine hands but their absence

The distant call bound to the heart
and lies now aeons torn apart
Led astray without crucial sight
blinded by the deceitful light
The longing ire for time yet to pass
and the draining sand of the hourglass
will devour the strength needed to surpass
the earthly pain futilely amassed
Strayed to a path that is forged to entice
for one to swallow the foul blood of christ
Preaching the words that lead out of damnation
Wrought from ancient lies and falsification
Words turn into gasps of final breath
ashes to dust and dust to death
Bound to a path of an unpure shibboleth
while the last grains of trust remain neglected

Devoured to Dust

Risen above the swallowed up death
and an unquestioned sightlessness
of their vast untruthful surrogate
to deliver the words of innocence
The innocence yielded in a hollow disguise
to whose hands can bear a stone cold demise
with the credence that their dead will rise
aloft the earthly misery to all absent skies
To be found devoured and lying in dust
descending through the layers of crust
and drained to nothing but logy distrust
as the furthest remains of faith are lost
Silent and eternally shut for light
but to rise above the barren sights
devoid of the mundane dreary blight
without the words they falsely indite
All the earth will swallow are the remains
for boundless strength that it retains
within the fragile bones it grains
to dust as their eyes are shut once again

The dissonant bleakness of the first track is less weird and more hypnotic than on the second track. That's why I like it a little more. But both songs together make for an extraordinary experience and a journey to the arhythmically beating heart of darkness.
